Next general meeting September 20th at 7pm (location TBD)

Assalam Alaikum,

Hope everyone had a good summer break, Ramadan, and Eid. Inshallah the next meeting for the MBAH will be September 20th at 7pm. Location will be confirmed and announced soon.

The meetings are a great networking opportunity and I hope you will attend and invite your friends to come as well.

At the meeting we'll also discuss upcoming board elections for the new year. We want the organization to meet your needs and running for the board helps give you a voice at the table. Our interim board, in the meantime, has been working on developing a framework including formation paperwork and bylaws to help the organization move forward.

We'll also discuss upcoming volunteer opportunities and encourage people to signup for them. Some of our members recently worked with the Fort Bend Young Lawyers "Wills for Heroes" project and assisted first responders complete paperwork to help provide them and their loved ones peace of mind during challenging times. We also had members volunteer for Veteran's Legal Clinics with the Houston Bar Association and Fort Bend Lawyers Care.

Finally, we plan on having a guest speaker, attorney John T. Floyd, discuss FBI interviews and what attorneys need to be aware of when advising those undergoing investigation.

If you plan on attending the next meeting, please RSVP to rsvp@mbahouston.net.
